Another day, another trans hater, but I guess if you listen to people who got famous for the amazing contribution to the world of hitting a fuzzy ball over a net with a glorified snow shoe, well you are not going to get the most enlightened answers to any question.
I find her comments interesting because she (Navratilova) beat the first professional trans tennis player, Renee Richards, more than 40 years ago. If I remember correctly, Richards eventuallly coached Navratilova. People change, but I wonder what happened.
@PalacinkyPDX I doubt she “swallowed the red pil or orange koolaid”. I was thinking a serious disagreement between her and a trans-person or a TERF brainwashed her.
I only heard that she said it was unfair for trans to compete with ordinary women. Surely that's common sense?
Is it common sense? The is a runner, Caster Semenya, who is being prevented from competing because her body produces more testosterone than most women. There are also people out there born with better reflexes, or above average strength. It's called biodiversity. We all have different bodies. I am pretty sure short runners are at a disadvantage to tall runner as well. Have you ever heard of classes of runners based on height? Much more likely that a very short runner doesn't compete because they can't win against long legged runners. It is not like some man who was a great runner suddenly decided to transition to a more female body just because he thought it would give him an advantage. Just doesn't happen.
I think you want to use the diversity within a gender group as a reason to extend the diversity to allow a woman with masculine abilities to compete with ordinary women. That's not fair. You might as well bring it to its logical conclusion and get rid of the gender barrier in sports altogether. That would be an interesting experiment.
I got a 404 not found, but what I perceive as the issue from reading what Mortal wrote, I would have to say I would agree with Martina. It is simply a fact. I have no problem with facts presented properly and without bigotry. Would you find it racist to say that the black population has very curly hair? Of course I would also fully support you concerning any hateful rhetoric, so as I said I was unable to view her comments. I must say though I am astounded that as a bisexual she would make such comments. I'm really curious as to what they were.
