No doubt I think patriarchal macho mindset does not absolutely need religion. But religion sure does excuse it and give that false cosmic stamp of authority. After all, if Gawd says stone the gays, well Hot damn! The bashers have a seal of approval.
Ever notice how it is almost exclusively YOUNG men who bash? Like they have somethingcto prove.
