Just read the first three in a book series about a dystopian future, where most of the primary characters are LGBTQ+, called "The Road To Nowhere" by Meg Elison. It is actually pretty good.
The books in order are
"The Book of the Unnamed midwife"
"The Book of Etta"
"The Book of Flora"
Not sure if it is just a trilogy or will continue the series, but so far you can stop reading at the end of any of them and not feel like the story is unfinished. No cliff hangers.
The premise is that a new disease breaks out that kills off most people and especially affects women and children with a gender disaprtity of more than ten men for every woman. The second book takes up year after the first ends, whiel the third bok takes up almost immediately after the end fo the second.
