Christian author calls equal marriage too homosexual
[patheos.com]
HAHAHA, Too rich!
Organised religion is fixated with breeding. It owned the concept of marriage for a very long time. It forbade sex outside of it, and then dictated who could marry who.
It's all about exploiting the human sexual urge in order to put future generations of bums on pews. This is why it hates masturbation, homosexuality, contraception, transgender surgeries that result in sterilisation, or sex outside of marriage that might not brainwash the ensuing offspring to repeat the entire process when they're old enough. Basically anything that interferes with the process of a good [insert religion here] wife letting her [insert religion here] husband bang her whenever he wants to, and churning out more [insert religion here] followers along the way, is a bad thing.
It seems that couples that choose not to reproduce don't fit in with the business model either, even if they do tick all of the other boxes.
I read similar analyses on sex and Christianity....that the very personal, private, and variable nature of sexual experience make it the perfect target for controlling the faithful through fear. You convince people there is something horribly, shamefully wrong with them and that their only chance of avoiding total damnation is to prostrate themselves before whatever controlling teachings you are peddling.
I wasn't surprised that a Christian drew that conclusion. I haven't read the article but my understanding of scripture could easily lead to a conclusion like that. Scripture demands that marriage has a person who is the head (a male) and a person in subjection to the head (a female). Gay marriage for men would give equal status to the partners.
But I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head of a wife is her husband, and the head of Christ is God. - 1 Corinthians 11:3 ESV
You point out the pervasive tension/conflict between the gospels, which claim to tell Jesus' direct teachings, and the Pauline writings, which make up over half the new testament. Paul was an asshole. Jesus called Peter the rock upon which his church would be built, or so it is written, anyway. But look who it was the power brokers who decided the make up of the Bible 300 some odd years later would emphasize: Paul. Politics much? But the Bible is infallable, right? All the contradictions are infallable contradictions.
