Oh the good old "Your intolerance of my intolerance is still a form of intolerance" argument? Not all intolerance is equal. Some is good (intolerance of child sexual abuse.) Some is bad (intolerance of consenting adults in relationships that are none of your damned business.)

The skater is registering a protest. He isn't challenging anyone's rights, other than their own perceived rights to discriminate. Trump and his kin want religious people to be allowed to discriminate against LGBT+ people on religious grounds. That's everything from not being able to buy a cake or a pizza, to losing their jobs, to losing their lives when a surgeon exercises his religious right not to operate one someone because of their minority status.

Declining to meet the walking satsuma isn't exactly the same thing as allowing someone to drop dead on an operating table because you believe it's God's will that they should die and burn in hell.
