A few hours ago, I made a post in the Mental Health Support Group [agnostic.com] For anyone here that's also part of that group, please post some comments there. Something bugs me about all the comments on that post (so far) being by white members.

Why Is It Still So Hard For Young People of Color to Get Therapy? [vice.com]

I have been getting cognitive behavioral therapy for the last 8 years. (Not the same therapist the entire time, though.) I cannot stress enough the amount of healing it has done for me. I strongly encourage everyone to see a therapist the same way you see a dentist. And let's figure out how to lift this stigma of mental & emotional disorders being a "white people problem".

Where I live the majority is Hispanic. Here saying that you are going to a therapist to get help is not common either, all they say here is to pray whatever is bothering you. I come where the majority is also Catholic and all your problems will be resolved with prayer, so yes, no one understands.
