Luckily I read that the company has stopped making these conversions after only a few, because Lego's lawyers let them know that they were opening themselves to all kinds of legal trouble using their product without permission.
"To show how shooting is a fun sport", was supposedly the purpose. I'm certain that the real purpose was to generate publicity for themselves and to get a bunch of NYT readers screaming, in which they succeeded.
