We are gaining ground in local arena's passing laws that have some teeth and actually help the cause. On a country wide base nothing is happening and nothing is going to happen anytime soon, this is going to be a long drawn out fight. The best weapon we have right now is the vote, if you really want to see change, get off your lazy dead ass and vote. We're in the mess we're in now because of lousy voter turnout. We take the power of the vote for granted, and if you do vote regularly take somebody with you, actually take a carload or two.
Many on our side think our vote doesn't matter, but the NRA people ALWAYS vote and their vote makes a difference just as ours would if we were as motivated. This is that same for the people that don't want women to have reproductive rights including abortion. They are a motivated group for voting. The vote is as important as the sign you hold at a March. VOTE!!!
I would say , "Amen brother!" But this is the wrong site!
We are in this mess because the gun industry and NRA spend huge amounts of money to sway voters. Too many people are too often fooled. There are others things people can do as well as voting. Send letters/phone calls to legislators, business and speak out.
I would say as well, support businesses that support your side. That would mean banning guns in their stores, for example. Invest your money in stocks that don't invest in gun manufacturers.
If you're pro - women's reproductive rights don't get a pizza from dominoes since they donate money to anti women's reproductive rights groups. At one point their pizza boxes several years ago said, "Proud supporter of pro life"
Think about what businesses you give your money to and how it might be donated to republican campaigns (yum! brands including taco bell, wal-mart, etc)
@StrongHappySilly Totally agree. I was with my daughter recently, in Portland and they stopped by a Chik Fil A. I told my daughter about their issue and she said she would look into it. They went ahead and bought but I, at least, planted a seed.
@JackPedigo I did not know that about dominoes .
