Ok, here it is. Gun rights people aren't going to give up one bullet. They feel the 2nd amendment means, they can have as many, and any kind of gun they want, and it's nobody's business what they have, or what they do with it. I'm not saying I understand, or agree with any of this, but we need to realize this is the way it is, for most of them, and more guns is going to be the answer, most of the time. It's time for us to accept this and find another way. I'm tired of beating my head against a wall. I've come against this from every direction I could think of, and the only consistent thing, is not making any difference at all. I'm not giving up, not by a long shot, there's a way, we just need to find it. What we're doing now isn't working, we've got to be happy gaining ground on the local level for a while longer, and keep gaining ground. It may not seem like much, but it's better than nothing. Right now focusing on Nov., and getting rid of as many Republicans as possible, is our best bet.
It doesn't matter what gun nuts think or feel! We are suffering more from guns than we are being protected by them! And it doesn't matter if the gun nuts won't accept any facts. They're delusional and frantic. They are cowardly scaredy cats who can sleep only with a gun on their chest. It's futile to try to debate with irrational people.
"Remember in November!"
"Gun NUTS are COWARDLY SCAREDY CATS"!
I like that" I think I'll work on a "unit patch" for my informal shooting group mirroring this.
Since I'm by definition here, irrational, I'll have to have my wife check my design for accuracy.....
Oh, wait.... She's a cowardly gun nut too.
I believe what you are saying. I belong to a Buddhist Shanga and one of our members is a Vietnam vet. I like him and his wife immensely. The other night he talked about gun control and I was shocked on his adamant view that we gun legislation people are trying to take all the guns. That is what they hear and if a Buddhist guy is gearing that too, it doesn't bode well. I agree and hopefully we will have a blue wave in November and legislation will happen although who can say that Dems in power will do a better job
One step at a time, we just have to remember to keep stepping, there's a way we just have to find it.
@MikeFlora I hope you are right
@AmelieMatisse so do I
@MikeFlora
Good day to you Mike!
After perusing some posts and responses here, I'd like to make a suggestion for your potential debate. And this just may be because I'm coming a bit late to all this on Agnostic.com.
Can you, and Spike, separately.... (no peeking at the other fellow's work!) write a brief summarizing statement of what your goal is in this debate. And what outcome you'd like to see? No generalities though. Specific actionable stuff only.
@bigpawbullets great suggestion!
@AmelieMatisse, @bigpawbullets I'll give it a try
