Random question, why would S&W care what people who are unlikely to ever purchase their products think?
How many here are concerned about what S&W corporate offices or just regular joe and jane employees at S&W think about gun control?
If you don't care what they think, why should they be concerned about a protest from people who largely disagree with their businees?
I predict S&W to largely ignore the protest. At most, they'll give a little placebo. Maybe donate $50k to families hurt by active shooters.
The article claims to want to, "save lives and change the conversation about gun violence."
We keep bashing each other with extremely similar talking points. I think we really do need a major change in the conversations about gun violence.
I fully agree with those goals, so I keep asking why is restrictive legislation the main or only way to achieve those goals?
Please notice, I'm not claiming legislation has not place in reducing gun violence. I just can't think of any problems where we don't have a lot of informal interventions and strive to change a culture/maximize safety through better habits. I can't think of a single problem over the last 30 years where our main focus has been restrictive legislation.
We can do both legislation AND "informal interventions". We don't have to choose either one or the other.
