Last year, police fatally shot 1,129 according to Mapping Police Violence.
149 of those killed were unarmed. In 631 incidents, police were responding to non-violent offenses or when no crime was reported at all. 87 people killed had been stopped for a traffic violation.
There were 14 days in 2017 when no one was killed by a cop.
Less than 1% one percent of the officers responsible (13 incidents) were charged with a crime. In 9 of these incidents, there was body cam or dash cam footage.
The police officers really have a dangerous shit job these days. Whenever they get called out for a disturbance, they could pretty much so plan that at least somebody in this argument / disturbances are going to be packing. This, in my opinion, leads to officers to be Trigger Happy. When it comes to guns the person that shoots first wins. Violence is a vicious cycle
