Washington State Bans Anyone Under 21 From Buying Assault Rifles
And when I go to the site what do I get - ads for massive assault weapons. I not only voted yes for this I also gave $$ to get it on the ballot. This issue is a biggie for me.
As a Washington voter, I voted YES on the gun control law. It passed. Hooray!
So an 18 year old can join the army and use a 50 cal BMG, but can't own a semi-auto?
I don't have a problem keeping those kinds of weapons limited to the military. Standard practice around the world.
@kmdskit3 I'm talking about age... Do you know what a BMG is?
@TheGreatShadow ....and, I'm talking about limiting these weapons to the military regardless of a civilian's age which is the norm in pretty much every 'advanced'/first world country. What difference does it make if I know that BMG stands for Browning Machine Gun?
There is a huge difference between being in a controlled environment in the military and out in the public. The military has strong rules for the use of weapons during training.
@JackPedigo I can own one...
He can't drink alcohol legally either. Raising the legal drinking age helped keep alcohol out of schools. Otherwise 18 year olds would be at parties with 14 year olds and they would all have access to booze
@Kojaksmom That did a whole lot of good to prevent me from drinking at 15...
@TheGreatShadow every little bit helps. Why have any laws at all if everybody is just going to break them anyway? No laws are made for people that obey them, laws are made for people that don't.
