Fascinating article on what the AR 15 does to the human body. Warning verbally graphic.
Thank you for this. One thing I noticed was the constant comment: "...mental health is often a big problem underlying these tragedies.” And on Tuesday, Florida’s state legislature voted against considering a ban on AR-15-type rifles, 71 to 36" Maybe we have been looking at the mental health issue from the wrong angle. We need to seriously consider the mental health of those willing to let such destruction happen because of some cowardly, misconceived, self-serving ideas. The conservatives of this country have shown, over and over where their priorities lie and it is not with "we the people"!!
Mental health is an issue, but it's a tangential issue to the gun problem. If we could "cure" everyone with mental health issues would the amount of all shootings go down? No doubt, but that is not likely to happen any time soon, if ever. So, that leaves controlling the guns! With any national fortitude that can be addressed & at least keep mass killings limited. It's at least a damn start!
I know right? It's appalling!
I was aware of some of that, but to hear it in detail from a trauma room doctor really hits home. There is no excuse, enough is enough!
