I'm doing a piece called " What is a Assault Weapon and Why Should They be Banned" to make it easier to convince companies to cut ties with the NRA, and to help get politicians to ban "weapons of war". That's where that list of people shot in mass shootings came from.
I learned something new about same said guns that surprised me. I thought a fat slow bullet would cause more damage than a small fast moving bullet. Seemed logical to me, man was I wrong. Think of it like the speed of sound, all that turbulence behind the plane is the part that does the most damage.
I'm sure gun lovers are going to try to rip this post to pieces, but this is one thing they can't deny happens. They are going to come totally unglued when they read my whole article.
This is my outline;
Title page What is a assault weapon, and why they should be banned. below that is a picture of a gun with the barrel tied in a knot.
Next page is the tribute to the list you just saw,
next page defines a assault weapon, I used the definition from the 1994 weapons ban.
after that is a doctor explaining how much more damage these guns do over a regular gun
next is the difference the 1994 ban had
Then comes why they should be banned again
followed by my conclusions and what I think
lastly comes Acknowledgments
Hopefully this will make it easier to make a real difference.

You are dealing with Bumper Sticker mentalities. Their attention span is pretty short. Your go-to audience is Donald Trump, who can not read an entire paragraph, let alone 10 pages.
I always say they hold pep rally's and speak in slogans
The gun lovers seem to be quiet. They have their own little group and know they would be out shouted if commenting on ours.
I don't understand all the problems with an assault weapons ban. It was done before why is it so hard to have it done now? Maybe the gun industry has become so strong they feel they can get away with anything. Again, these shootings will not stop and every one now will add to the demand for stricter regulations (like is mentioned in the 2nd amendment).
I can't tell you why exactly, but for some reason watching a school carry out a mass shooter drill really messed with me. It's the kind of thing you should see in a 3rd world country, not here.
@MikeFlora But the gun fanatics seem okay with that. Their perceived rights over other people's lives. Does that sound normal or even sane?
They keep also repeating online (asshats that they are, uneducated fucking plonking wankers) ( I've had it right now) they keep saying : "Assault is a VERB not a noun!" (Crossed arms and provocative stare follows) And ... what point is that meant to be ??? But also: it is, of COURSE ! WRONG AGAIN. Give me a brake. Assault: verb and/or noun. Get yourselves a fucking dictionary. I'm tired of bullshit. Sigh!
Be aware that the nra pundit will claim there is no such thing as an assault weapon. "Quote" AR-15-platform rifles are among the most popular firearms being sold. They are today's modern sporting rifle. The AR in “AR-15” rifle stands for ArmaLite Rifle, after the company that developed it in the 1950s. “AR” does NOT stand for “assault rifle” or “automatic rifle.” But is a Mass Destruction Device.
That's why I used the definition from the 1994 weapons ban. When I the conclusion to my piece I looked it up, You can buy a AR-15 from Rural King for $379.99
@MikeFlora That simple. And that is why... All those weapons need to be reclassified on terms of damage and destruction, and future potential of destruction with future ammo. That is how loops are created.
What does "sporting" mean? Will the NRA say all the shooting episodes be termed "sporting events?" Anyone who needs an assault weapon to defend themselves is an unfeeling coward.
In Germany if one belonged to a shooting club one kept their weapons at the club, not at home. Maybe the ban should be one of place.
