Today's Mass Shooting Tracker
January 1, 2019 thru February 8, 2019
61 mass shootings in 67 days
(It feels like we should all celebrate not having 67+++ 67 days. That's almost as sick as 61 this far.) sigh
I just read a report (from the Washington Post) that stated: "In most terror suspect arrests, ideology is domestic not international." There was a picture of the mass of weapons from the Coast Guard person's planned shooting.
@SeaGreenEyez I am sure the NRA and it's lobbying tactics have something to do with this.
Timothy McVeigh actually came out to bite me (and others in my field). Before he was executed his lawyers found some files that had not been brought out at his hearings. They were mislabeled. It was too late and the judge threw out the appeals but it was decided to standardize all records using a set of standards. Every one of the thousands of records in my center had to be relabeled and reentered in the data base. That required hiring several temps to do the basic work. The big confusion came from all the records that were stored off-site. There are legal requirements for retention periods and, since these could not be relabeled there had to be a cross reference listing made. It was a nightmare.
@SeaGreenEyez Which documentary was it?
