During NRA conventions, and the three weeks prior and after them, gun-related injuries and deaths drop by 20% in the whole of the U.S. And by 63% in the state hosting the event.
Because, you know, most NRA members are busy at the convention instead of bein out in the public. (Which makes the NRA an actual solution to gun violence - in the current topsy-turvy world of the U.S.) Or another reason could be that all NRA members are protecting the public from other NRA members by simply being in the same convention as them. They are a deterrent to gun violence. They are a deterrent to themselves.
The findings were based on insurance claims of gun-related injuries and deaths from 2007 to 2015: [arstechnica.com]
