64 members since Dec 29th, I guess that's pretty good, we are gonna need a hell of a lot more if we are going to make any difference. It's obvious the gov't is less than useless. Facebook is a waste of time, I was told that I ranted to much and should be more positive. I hate ranting and would love to be more positive, but schools in this country do mass shooter drills. I find it appalling that we let it get to this point. Kids in this country should not have to worry about getting shot when they go to school. I just posted some stats that I put together about mass shootings. The only constant is the weapons, 72 out of 98 shootings from 1982-2018 were acquired legally. 90% were assault weapons and handguns(mostly handguns). Regulating and or banning certain style weapons is the best most effective way to reduce mass shootings.
I think it's time to go straight to the source. I think we need to go straight to the gun stores and ask them nicely to stop selling assault weapons. If they say no thank them for their time and put 500 people in their parking lot everyday till they see the light. Be nice and don't tear up anything. Call local news and tell them what you are going to do. They'll send a reporter and a camera crew, they will keep you safe nobody will mess with you if they think it'll be on the 6 o'clock news. Waiting on anything else to happen is just going to get more people killed, wounded, and traumatized.

No, I am talking about peaceful protests. No violence to any person or thing. Any confrontation takes you from protesting to rioting. Always have a news team there to keep the peace, nobody on either side is going to do anything if they think it's gonna be on the 6'o clock news.

There are marches coming up this month all over the country. Public opinion is shifting.

Does be more positive mean to pray more? We have long past the point of sitting idly by while the gun nuts continue to run amok. Often extreme measures take extreme means. At least our side is doing this non-violently unlike the other side.

There are lots of measures we can take and I posted one that is law but has been ignored. To get to the law ruling took a lot of work. The gun industry wants us to quite trying and only support what is already on the books, which in some places, is very little.

The guy is a old friend he just meant be more positive thinking. I don't think we need to wait for the law. I want to take it straight to the source put 500 people in gun store parking lots and get it on the 6'o clock news. The NRA can't do a damn thing about this we put 500 people in gun store parking lots all the NRA can do is watch it on TV. This is the first of March in all likely hood there will be at least 2 or 3 more shootings by the end of the year. Do we watch it happen and do nothing waiting on something we know isn't gonna happen or do we do something and try to make a difference.

I don't remember Groups being available back in Dec 29. Nevermind.

But, I agree with you - even if I have no stake in this debate: I'm not in the U.S.

I agree with you that protests and other forms of peaceful activism is required.

But more importantly, vote. Vote your elected representatives OFF their seats if you find that they are not willing to do what you people want them to do. You are their bosses. They work to serve you people.

2.9 million more people voted for Hillary Clinton than Donald Trump and you see who's in the Whitehouse don't you. Getting the most votes doesn't mean you automatically win the election.

@MikeFlora Yeah, I know about the problems of both the Electoral College and Gerrymandering.

If you are suggesting outright civil war as a protest against gun rights, I'll have to mildly say: be careful, that action could be a "stretch".

Protests, activism and voting are the tools we, as citizens of any democracy, have.

@SamKerry Our election process is the problem to most of our problems, and there are no easy answers to fix it.
