I was reading an article in National Geographic that included facts about the Las Vegas shooting - 58 people were killed AND OVER 545 people injured in that shooting! All because of one deranged man with several assault rifles. Think about it- over 600 killed and injured in one attack by a single gunman.
I am OK with a European approach. You want to own a weapon, fine. It, and the ammo, are kept at the gun club for your use on the club's course/range. No weapons in the home or vehicle.
I agree, accurately accounting for casualties is a real blind spot in the media coverage. They love to tote up how many are dead, yet lack interest in the many more who are maimed and crippled, let alone the ones who recover, with scars, after a long recuperation. Not gory enough? Five hundred forty five is an astounding number that would catch anyone's attention were they to publicize it more vigorously.
Yeah, & gun types, modifications & certain ammo is NOT the issue! Right! That's almost as dumb as saying we should ban multi-story hotels so the gunmen can't get a line of fire rather than address the real issue!
