Senate Democrats ask the IRS to consider stripping the NRA of its tax-exempt status
[nbcnews.com]
Guess, after paying for LaPierre's wardrobe, mansion, and political contributions, they've spent all their rubles and feel they should be able to claim non-profit status.
The IRS should not have to be "asked" to do this. It is a pure travesty that so many of our governmental programs continue to go underfunded (like the IRS) while conflict of interests or fear of being branded keeps agencies from doing their jobs. FFRF has sued the IRS twice (and won both times) about the lax enforcement of the 'Johnson amendment' and unscrupulous and greed based clergy exemptions. Still there has been no enforcement.
I have a close friend who lives in S. Oregon. She was an IRS agent for the American Samoa district. She constantly went against the tricks local churches went to extort tax money and she always won. She is really upset at the present lax IRS enforcing it's own rules. They even once said since they made the rules they can break them, crazy.
Tax-exempt status should have been stripped from the NRA LONG AGO!!!!
Re-reading my comment I see I might have given a false impression. These are the rules and the IRS should follow them without question. I changed my comment.
