My thoughts and beliefs regarding our planet is to cause as little disruption as I can. I will not live without toilet paper, but everything else is up for debate. I have lived by the mantra "Tread lightly and leave nothing but footprints"
Our planet has been destroyed and come back more times than anyone could imagine. As long as we reside "in the sweet spot" In this solar system it will continue to do so.
We as a species may not be here for the next iteration but the planet will be, as will life forms of some sort, unless the sun "winks out" or our planet is blasted into becoming just another asteroid belt of debris by internal or external events.
I do not see that I, as an individual, can do much about global atmospheric change. I have spent my life doing as little as I could get away with. But.... I can't live without toilet paper.

I do the same and find that it is hard, there being just a few things that I can not live without, this computer for one. But I do try to keep it until it is old, and all of those things. Yet since I live alone without family, (At least I did not do the worst possible thing and have children. ) it is a choice between a computer and a little travel, or death, which is perhaps the best thing for the planet, but I am not quite ready for that yet, getting there though.

The one thing that I try the hardest is to generate as little waste as possible. I purchase used when ever possible, avoiding the "packaging". When items no longer are necessary, they are donated to live on with someone else. I try to buy my produce from local farms. Fish comes from the boats, or if I am late rising, from the dockside market. I roast my own coffee. The grounds go outside in the yard. I am far from a Mr. Natural but I at least do as much as I can. I do have some extravagances. I like to travel in a mini RV. It does use gasoline and mileage is poor (14 mpg) but I do stay in National forest and when I leave all that remains are tire tracks and footprints
@moosepucky Have compost heaps, try to use as little packaging as possible. Don't use much in the way of goods at all anyway. But like you it is travel that is my weakness, living in a deep rural area I have no public transport for short journeys. And living on an island means that you have to fly for the longer ones.

@Fernapple little too messy for me. I always felt like the forest was cursing me as I walked away after wiping my hands.
I try and ’traid lightly’ myself! I plant bushes and trees and I care for them!
