'Expedition Bigfoot' Scours Oregon Woods for Signs of the Mythical and Elusive Beast: [livescience.com]
I don't believe Bigfoot exists, I would need proper evidence for that.. but out of all the myths of man, I say this one has the greatest potential.
If Bigfoot exists, its intelligence would be somewhere between chimps/bonobos and us. That's intelligent enough to know how to avoid us and pass along generational information. If it exists, it would have lived here before Europeans settled here and witnessed the extermination of the Native Americans. I have little doubt that if it exists, it knows why and how it needs to keep its existence hidden as best as possible.
As was mentioned, people who doubt its existence site that it should be found with the number of hunters and hikers. To that, I bring up the wood bison. It was believed to be extinct for 20 years until they found a herd of them. They're not very intelligent and everyone believed them to not exist anymore. An intelligent ape/man species would be much harder to find as it'll likely take an active role in avoiding us.
It's hard to believe that with all the hunters, hikers, and back country campers in Oregon and Washington, that
if " bigfoot" existed, some physical evidence would have be uncovered by now. It is almost inconceivable that a mammal as large as the purported bigfoot supposedly is, would leave evidence of habitation or existence. Bones, tools, campsites, heritage, something.
Couple this with the need to maintain a large enough population for maintaining a viable breeding population to sustain the species. Verifiable sightings should be more prevalent than the specious sightings that presently exists.
Lol, "Bigfoot/Sasquatch" did exist, that was the nickname I gave my daughter, Lorrae, when she was 14 years old and could only wear, comfortably, Men's sized 9 and a half shoes.
I am about 6 feet tall and she was about 1 and a half inches taller than me at that age, she loved the nickname and hearing me sing or whistle the theme to the movie " Harry and the Hendersons."
Sadly she succumbed to Mature B Cell Lymphoma on January, 7th. 2001,I still miss her very very much and all the fun and laughs we shared.
@t1nick Much appreciated because those children and their parents really do need all the support and encouragement that they can get, it IS a very, very, hard, difficult and tortuous road that they have to travel, filled with all kinds of emotions, negativities, hopes, etc, and those hopes are so often liable to dashed upon the rocks at any time, I know because I've travelled that road.
