So I just watched a commentor on the trucking industry. There is a dearth of drivers because thanks to President Obama the economy has recovered from the debacle in 2008 caused by W.Bush. With the current President's disruption of the world's economy, it is now feared that layoffs will occurr as more countries stop purchasing our goods. Truck drivers are threatened by this tariff war & everyone will lose, as less orders of our products are received, less goods will be shipped via trucks for export.

Rome wasn't destroyed/disrupted in a day. With the tariffs on all things China, Wal-mart will suffer. The tariffs on our good neighbors & allies will hit our exports & imports. as they become too expensive for us to order or be ordered by overseas markets.. Steel won't be delivered because construction costs are already going up.Caterpillar has taken a hit in the stock market as they are steel dependant.I hope this economist is wrong as I do not wish unemployment on our trucking industry or a decline in the construction industry as it fuels the entire economy. The cheap stuff from China will no longer be so cheap. As the President says, "We shall see."

I have a class A CDL and drive for a living. I haven't heard anything like that. Our freight has been rather heavy the last couple weeks and what disruption in economy has happened? Trump is leveling the playing field. For too long other countries have taken advantage of the US and all Trump has done is say "that's enough". So, please explain this disruption. I highly doubt anyone is going to slow down on shopping at Walmart or ordering from Amazon.

@blueskies have you heard of this "disruption"?

@ArtemisDivine no i haven't. all good on the trucking front from what i've read and i am in so many trucking groups on fb (also used to be on the road with my late husband all the time) and haven't heard that this is going to hurt any of the truckers here in the US. i have heard quite a bit though, about the damn forced elds.... lol
