Was Fox under some incredible pressure that we ordinary mortals have no concept of? Is his family being held hostage by Trump minions? I can't think of any other reason for this behaviour. Unless, of course, he is just another bumsucker out for his own advancement. Angry? Me? Yep.
We are entering a new age of servility with regards to the USA....it is clear that any Johnston premiership will allow the Trump administration to either select our ambassador or veto any they don’t approve of. Under Blair we were accused of being US “poodles”, but we will be more like Trump’s “lapdogs” under Boris.....Fox is already playing his part as Ivanka’s! How bloody embarrassing and cringeworthy.....and they actually sold this to the fools who voted for Brexit as “ taking back sovereignty “! What an irony!!
Once again I admire and full agree with your analysis. This is one of the most difficult skills to get across in my mission to promote science to everyone. Who taught you analysis?
@Mcflewster A lifetime of observation and analysis of human nature...and a lifelong interest in politics has given me a pretty shrewd insight. It fills me with trepidation at what lies ahead....unless we can stop Brexit from happening, which I still harbour faint hope of. I was taught by my father to read and think for myself and was lucky to be educated at a time when Scotland was reckoned to have the best education system in the world, sadly it was later dumbed down during the Thatcher years in government, when it was made to be more compatible with the GCE system of O and A levels in England and Wales. I remember Andrew Neil in a reply to a question of why he thought there were so many Scots running the country, in government, civil service, medicine and the media, disproportionately to their numbers in the population of the U.K., saying that this was the reason, and I agreed with his analysis. He did say that it would not be the case in younger generations because anyone educated since the beginning of the seventies wouldn’t have the same educational advantage. I have always considered myself extremely lucky to have benefited from a free state education that was equivalent to some who were educated privately, and at great expense.
Excellent. Can’t belief its come to this. A proud nation groveling to an adolescent regime that has no conception of world opinion on its ineptitude.
I am dismayed and concerned.
