No two thirds majority vote for a general election. Parliament prorogued for 5 weeks. What next in this production, that is on target to becoming the longest running farce on the Whitehall stage.

I think Parliament should meet in a field somewhere, in defiance of the proroguation.

.... and armed with blunderbusses to fight it out. There's nothing like a very real risk of personal injury to separate those who truly beiieve in something from those who are there for personal gain.

@Petter The Scottish Judges ruled last night that the prorogation was unlawful; that advice given to the Queen was an attempt to "stymie" parliamentary discussion of the issue. It goes to appeal in the UK Supreme Court next Tuesday, I think.

@Red_Cat As things become ever more tangled, all I can remark is that famous "The plot sickens."

@Petter Not sure I got the details correct, but who on this planet can keep up with it?

It was very interesting looking at Domenic Cummings body language when filmed on the news this morning. He appears to be a very stressed broken man. Almost as though his master plan had gone tits up.
Let us imagine that the UK departs on Halloween with or without a deal. What then? Will there still be a cry from the Tories for an election?
What if in 1922 the UK is in a poor state when the next General Election is meant to happen, will we try to re-enter the EU if a pro-EU party wins? Then the UK will have accept the Euro, Schengen and going fully metric.
This will be going on for quite some time to come. And what of the player who set this travesty in motion which has split the country into a state of near Civil War, which may break the Union, destroying Great Britain for good?
Getting bored shitless writing his memoirs in a shed and raking in loads of money talking on crisis leadership.

France pushing for any extension to be a 2 year one, which would take leaving to 5 years after the referendum result. We have a general election every 5 years (unless someone calls one in the meantime.) It's time to have another referendum, and kick the leavers' "We're the ones refusing to have a rematch having won, but you're the ones being unsporting" attitude into touch.

I can understand the comic angle but what we need now is hope.

We get the floppy shoes and exploding car during the intermission with a special set by Bozzo and Boris to lighten the mood.
