UK Election
What the fuck just happened.
That’s Britain screwed for the next 100 years!
It seems to me entirely possible that the next general election will be England only. Everybody else will have gone their own ways.
Apart from the poor Welsh people. If only they could re-enforce Offa’s Dyke, occupy Harlech Castle and call on the spirit of Owain Glyndwr to see off the Tories!
Just when you think countries have real choice eg Corban and in the US was Sanders, people vote conservative. It gives me little hope that we will have any other but MotherFucker Morrison for some years yet. I have nightmares about his grinning mug.
I know. Something odd about that last election and QLD. The exit polls were saying Labour if I recall. When you look at the accuracy of the UK exit polls over the last four elections they were pretty spot on.
Helps counter the rigging. Not so sure here!
Just like elsewhere in the world right wing politicians are using the fear of being overwhelmed by floods of immigrants to con the voters.
I think Corbyn was the killer for Labour..as one commentator said..he was toxic! Wrong leader who took the party too far to the left. Traditional Labour voters voted Tory for the first time ever...that speaks volumes. It should have been a certainty that Labour would get their votes after 10 years of Tory austerity....that wasn’t just about immigration or the EU...that was a big NO to Corbyn as PM.
@Marionville He was never electable. I though some tactical voting might creep in to make a difference. I hope Kier Starmer gets the leadership.
I had cause to have him as my brief several years ago when he was Doughty Chambers. He may still be. But I can personal account for his passion and desire for justice for justice’s sake, not the money or cudos.
@Geoffrey51 I agree..he’d be a great choice..but they now face 5 long years in opposition before the can win another General Election. They allowed the ideologues of Momentum to take over the party, they need to get back to centre left where they can win votes.
@Marionville Yes, bloody Momentum have a lot to answer for. Never really thought it was a good idea.
@Marionville definitely the wrong leader and policies too far to the left. Corbyn became leader a bit like"Yes Prime minister" when Jim Hacker became Prime minister by default.
Not directly about immigration but Brexit certainly is and I'm sure a few Lib Dem voters changed their allegiance because of that.
