Remember the "phony war"? Probably not, very few of us are old enough. But I did learn about it at school.

Are we now entering the "phony Brexit" period, with no apparent change?
If so, for how long before the "battles" commence in committee rooms both in UK and Europe?
My feeling is that it will last until the end of summer, with nothing more than hot air exchanges. Then ministers will suddenly wake up to the fact there is hardly any time for actual action.
I was thinking just yesterday that there are parallels between the current situation and the phony war.
,,,just heard that B. JOHNSON might have to cozy up to
D. tRump over new trade negotiations. I read that most
social scientists believe that the EU( and other global
organizations) benifit HUMANITY as a whole. As tRump
rants at NATO and the UN (as well as allies) the common folks here have empathy for you. I see grass root groups
continue to create "work around" contingency plans & keep
an eye on the big picture.
Thanks
It is doubtful it will come to blows (except in N. Ireland). There will be pain, though.
I’m sorry Petter..but we’ve just had three years of no other topic of conversation except Brexit here in the UK and now we have technically “left” we are trying to enjoy a period free of discussing it. Whatever is going to happen next will happen, whether we speculate about how it’s going to actually work out deal wise. The EU will be negotiating from a position of strength and that is always the better position regardless of what Boris & his gang think or say.

Posted by MattHardyA Boris promise is just a lie that hasn't happened yet. Whatever Sue Grey says, no way is Boris going to admit he lied and resign.
