Do you know who we have to thank for the expiration dates on Milk bottles? Surprisingly enough, it was the Notorious American Gangster, Al Capone. After his niece had become extremely ill due to drinking bad milk, the powerful Chicago gangster lobbied aggressively for expiration dates to be put on milk for the safety of children and pregnant women.
Wow; I researched this (some of us agnostics take researching seriously) and found out more facts about Al Capone;
Did you know....
Capone was the first person to open a soup kitchen to feed the poor during the Depression?
At a time of 25 percent unemployment, Capone's kitchens served three meals a day to ensure that everyone who had lost a job could get a meal. Soon, every city and town had a soup kitchen.
yes, you are right, l grew up in Chicago, his history is there. My late wife's father worked for a new York gangster by the name of Legs Diamond, l hear he was much more brutal than Capone, but l remember my pop retelling the story of the St Valentines day massacre, now, THAT was savage.
That was very nice of him.... I didn't know you could get sick from spoiled milk though....
i thought it was called yogurt
@LeighShelton me too... Or sour cream..
It depends which bacteria are growing.
@Cutiebeauty, @thislife or sour yogurt
my mom had to quit school in the 6th grade, because of milk fever
Posted by Ray13I just joined this group, thought it would be best one to post something like this: Thought this might interest some of my fellow agnostics - I just donated my 160th pint (total 20 gallons) of blood...

Posted by Reason-AbleI’m 54 and bored. I needed a project and decided to buy a truck and make it my project. I’ve been adding little mods to it every weekend. Any other vehicle enthusiasts in the group?

Posted by flower_nutMy mother's best friend worked for the local newspaper and decided to dress me as a leprechaun and use it for Saint Patrick's Day. I was a smiling leprechaun, whatever that was?
