Jonna Jinton--A Song For Sweden
Kulning - Ancient herdingcall - A farewell song to the cows
That's it!
@RhondaShotwell I thought in what you posted at one point I was seeing the same field.
She reminds me of a woman who demonstrated calling cattle in (Keiling?). So like much of BC where I live in the northern parts. I really liked her singing and the videos.
Are you safe, Roger?
@Lilac-JadeCanada As Mark Twain said, the report of my death was an exaggeration. I think that we have a new inexperienced river watcher employed by the town of Smithers. I do live on the lowest property and was flooded for a week in 2007. An atmospheric river hitting the northern coastal mountains could easily wipe out my outbuildings. I raised my home 2'8" in 2007, but with 6.3 acres of land in Smithers, I do have a lot of outbuildings.
Last summer we got a warning of a possible flood. I went to the river. It was 9" below the bank top at the lowest point and I told the town not to be ridiculous.
This time they shouted out we were going to be flooded because of an ice jam. I went to look at the river, found it was flowing into my land through a culvert and got the town to thaw a valve and shut it. I then went to a town officer and explained that flowing ice makes jams. A river frozen right across does not jam. With very cold the water can be briefly raised above the surface but 98% or more of the water is under the ice and in constant contact with The unfrozen river bottom. The river being compressed by the weight of snow and ice heats up slightly enough to melt some of the lowest ice.
So the report sent all over BC that Smithers was going to flood was an exaggeration!
Thanks for your concern.
She does that in one of her videos, so it might be the same one you watched. I imagine there are others with similar videos, but so far have only come across hers.
@rogerbenham Thanks for explaining. We heard two news reports so I was a bit concerned for you.
Any information on the artiste or song? Nice visuals.
She has quite a few videos where she explains her life. I think she does explain about the songs she sings in each video, but I don't remember if she did in this one. The visuals are stunning!
@RhondaShotwell Thanks…I’ll look her up.
