For starters Australia, the US and many others recognise the one China policy, not Taiwanese independence. The biggest trading partner for Taiwan is China etc. They are close already.
The US has stated if Taiwan "falls" to China, they will bomb Taiwan, specifically microchip production. The US is just pissed that communist China out competes them in the capitalist game.

Perhaps, but America is vilifying China
in trade politics and propaganda. How long will it be until China does not turn the other cheek? Direct conformation between America and China would not go well for either side. Not far from China you have a very resource rich land which could well be Tibet no 2.
I vote we let our future leader Peter Dutton escape to spread his wisdom to the world perhaps he will hide in Israel??
