We got 4 geese last spring and one goose just layed 2 eggs over the past two days . They are american buffs two pairs they each have their own personality and are a lot of fun . I hung a bell with a string tied to it which they love to ring . No one comes to the house unannounced by the geese . Even though I love roast goose I don't think I could eat them . We also have 5 white sultan chickenswhich I have no attachment to .

Oh for God's sake. Don't you know anything?! You never put all your eggs in one basket!

do you breed or eat?

@Insectra, i would eat the eggs. some people might breed & give the goslings away at an appropriate age, sell them. i only ever had chooks.

@walklightly is that a double entendre?

@FrayedBear, at least quadruple, by my count 😀

@walklightly lmao now it is!

@Insectra I used to pilfer them at the local cemetery with lakes. They are different in a good way from chicken eggs

@Insectra Have you thought of selling them as pets and guard birds?

@Insectra You could always force feed them like the barbaric French do to produce enlarged livers to make paté de foie gras. I've just recalled that I love turkey liver.

@Insectra $75/ lb incentive?

Are you going to hatch them or eat them?

My nieces feed theirs to their dogs! They can't eat them because the ducks are pets? I hope you enjoy yours!

what!? that sounds half-twisted to me. not being able to eat your pets' eggs, but feed the dogs on them.... hmmmm...

@walklightly I know huh? lol They live a few hours away.... sadly.

@Insectra The one that eats the most eggs is a herding dog - and thinks the ducks are her's. It's pretty funny - and it was adorable when they were ducklings.
