Did you race him? Fry, steam or pie him when he died?
They are loving, and highly intelligent. With better observation and memory skills than humans, apparently.
I once tried to keep our (fancy) pigeons off our deck by putting a realistic, head-bobbing Great Horned Owl on the deck railing. But despite my constantly moving the fake owl's location to make it seem alive, the pigeons would observe it for about 20 minutes, then resume their activities as before.
The rest of us didn't fare so well, however.
The parrots went berserk screaming alarms if they glimpsed it, the dogs would go crazy barking when they came onto the deck, and we'd all jump in alarm each time we came out the front door, despite being the ones who put the fake owl there in the first place.
Finally, the pigeons won..they were the only ones not being traumatized, so I took the owl down.
