You forgot the common ones down here - the baby chicken aka common sparrow, the noisy chicken - the cockatiel. There is also the small dog eating chicken - aka the pelican.
Love the new name for the lorikeet - very appropriate particularly if it is a runner.

oh yeah, I forgot the canine gobblers, up here it is pelicans.

@Rugglesby my mistake you're correct pelicans. Not sure now which I wrote so I won't blame spell check! On the Central Coast we also used to call them itchers for the fleas left in the water that caused that unpleasant Pelican itch after swimming near them or water they had been in.

Giggle chicken and swoopy chicken are my favorites.

Gotta watch the old wedge tail though. They do carry off dogs and sheep.

@Rugglesby dogs and sheep?! Wow.

@Blindbird This isn't even a big one.

@Rugglesby Australia does not mess around. What is that animal its carrying off?

@Blindbird That is a red fox, Vulpus vulpus, they are an import and a feral pest here, so the eagle is doing its bit to clean up Australia.

@Rugglesby thank you.
