I'm crying. this is the second rose-crowned fruit dove (ptilinopus regina) only I ever saw, & dead as the first one from 3 years ago. she smashed her head in a window pane that is clearly marked to prevent exactly that happening. I will bury her with the other beauty.

me neither, Rugglesby, not alive at least. but they are said to be widespread & common within its large range & of least concern on the endangered species index.

@walklightly wow, I will have to find where they are and see if I can see some, thanks for that.

Incredible colours. I can only suggest potted plants in front of the windows or to put netting a foot away from the pane of glass ... how about a stuffed eagle on a perch in front of the window?
There again perhaps like Great Danes they are simply stupid.

FrayedBear Level 9 Mar 30, 2018

i can't quite believe that they should be as stupid as any dog breed; after all, they aren't humanely mutated 😉

@walklightly dunno how many great Danes have suicided on your window pane? LOL ?

@FrayedBear, L 😀 L! oh, i thought great danes were your expertise. i only see a low-flying sheep dog around here occasionally.
