The first 9 chicks have hatched, dried, and are now in a brooding box. They're so cute! Two more have just hatched but are too wet to leave the incubator. And the first turkey poult pipping out now.

You're friend is lucky to have your help with all your avian experience 🙂 Do you help with wild bird rescues? My daughter and I do on occasion although usually just for transporting injured or orphaned birds to vets or sanctuaries. We ave rescue cats so avoid any long term work with potential prey.

What kind of birds are these? How long will they be in the brooding box?

Just go back and read the previous posts.
Isn't it great when people come into the cinema half way through the movie and loudly ask someone "what's going on?"

@FrayedBear That was a jerk response, FrayedBear

@pixiedust in a jerk mood. Just delete your comment and rewrite it - mine will disappear - ? I won't object ?

@Insectra Now I want to go to the Feed store and look at the chicks! lol

@Insectra A lot of work. Your friend is lucky to have you helping. You seem like a very experienced avian person. Do you ever work with wild bird rescues?

@Insectra You are an amazing woman!
