Please feel free to share.
I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012 and after 18 months of treatment was in remission but recently pancreatic cancer is being explored. I definitely have pancreatitis...but awaiting results if it's acute..chronic..benign or otherwise.
thinking of you. Welcome to the group.
@sassygirl3869 thank you
I just joined this group and thank you for starting it.
In October of 2011 I had a mammogram and got an all clear. In February of 2012 I found a lump under my left arm. The doctor decided to biopsy it. It was stage 3 invasive ductile carcinoma. Further investigation through a PEM scan found another cancerous tumor in my left breast against the chest wall, as well as cancer cells in my right breast. They determined all three to be primary sites. The mammogram detected NONE of them. The cancer was also in 6 of the 10 lymph nodes they removed on the left side. After bilateral radical mastectomies, radiation and chemotherapy, I am happy to say that I just passed my 7 year anniversary of being cancer free.
I should also add that two years after my diagnosis, my brother, who is 4 years older than I, was diagnosed with stage 1 invasive ductile carcinoma, same as me, as required a mastectomy. He is also ok. Genetic testing revealed none of the markers for breast cancer, so it had to be environmental. What else could it be? I don't believe our bodies were meant to withstand the onslaught of chemicals in our air, water and food.
I'm reading every post, and acknowledging that I read them by checking "like", but I hate that so many of us have had to deal with this, and my heart aches for each and every one of you who has been diagnosed. But we're here... and that is something to really "like".
I'm a 5 year survivor from AML-acute myloid leukemia. Chemo, radiation and bone marrow transplant gave me a second chance at living.
Again, welcome to the group.
I was stage 2B triple positive at same time Feb 2012 and mammo didnt get it. It was biopsy and 10 of 14 lymph nodes. Sucked.
@Dandewine they have scans that are far more accurate than mammograms but the insurance companies don't want to pay for them
There must be many more, surely, on this site. After all, cancer is a widespread affliction if you take into account its many forms.
Thats what I thought Petter. Looks like we got 3 more
@sassygirl3869 Don't know whether to be happy for the group or sad for the afflicted!
Yep. I got it. It started as breast cancer. I find out Wednesday if it has spread. I've been taking hormone blockers since August and the initial tumor has shrunk by about 50%. The secondary tumor in my lymph node is almost gone. But I had a biopsy on my thyroid and a CT scan to see if it has changed in the last six month. I'm not looking forward to my oncology visit. I don't want to take chemo, radiation or have surgery.
Welcome to the group. Thank you for sharing.
I'm not sure if I'm a member, but I should be.
I'm 18 months out of hpv throat cancer treatments.
So far, so good.
You are most welcome to join this group.
