We just returned from CA where I finally got to meet the doctor who will do my surgery. She says the pathology report showed I have endometrioid cancer which is the "good" kind to have, Grade One. But she says the doc in Mississippi should not have told me that I would not need chemo or radiation because they can't know what stage it is until surgery is done and more pathology too. & especially since I didn't go to a doctor right away when I got symptoms. (I was overwhelmed with being in a very bad marriage and trying to figure out how to escape. Then when I finally escaped I found that my health insurance only worked in CA) She was just not very encouraging....
By the time the surgery happens it may be about a year since I started spotting....wondering if I am doomed...my kids are 13 years old... On line research is not encouraging if it's beyond stage 1....
Meanwhile I'm penniless since I can't work, and can't divorce my creepy ex because I need his health insurance. I'm getting more and more depressed. Does anyone have something positive to say about endometrial cancer?

had in 2003. I had a hysterectomy on 02/11/03.
Well, the doctor also told me it was a good cancer and that I wouldn' t need chemo / radio......AND HE WAS RIGHTTTTTT. In fact, most likely you will be only three days in the hospital. You will feel tired for a while but this is normal.
Don't fret......you will be fine.
Ask the doctor if the hysterectomy will be "total"....and if they will remove the lymphatic nodes.
MAKE SURE THEY DON'T PRESCRIBE CHEMO / RADIO "JUST IN CASE"....

Thank you! I'm so glad to meet someone who had the same thing. She is going to have pathology done as she operates to determine if she needs to remove nodes, but the plan for now is laproscopic removal of my uterus, cervix and ovaries with no hospitalization at all.... I am worried because I ignored minor spotting for many months as I struggled to figure out how to escape my husband, only to find that once I escaped my health insurance didn't work anymore. (The reason for all the travel.) By the time I get the surgery will have been about a year since symptoms began. So I hope by "slow growing" they mean REALLY slow growing....
@Carin Yessssssssss is a slow growing one; the fact is Level 1 even after a year of spotting proves my words. Most likely is the result of an hyperplesia not treated.
Lucky you the hysterectomy will by laparoscopic...and yes, the removal of uterus, cervix, ovaries and Fallopian tubes means "" total.""
You will be fine and dancing a week from the surgery.
I agree -Contact American Cancer Society for support. They will help you find food banks, support groups, financial aid is out there and point you in the right direction. I also received the free Cancer Program developed by Lance Armstrong to help you organize your cancer procedures and support - Livestrong Guidebook. It helped me immensely. Its FREE - Knowledge is Power.

The ACS paid for my hotel in Sacramento so yeah, they are awesome! I'll call my local branch and see if they have a food pantry or any other stuff. At this point anything would help!
@Carin they will give you a list of private groups that offer financial aid too. I had a food bank that delivered to my home.
@sassygirl3869 Wow, that would be a dream come true, since I'm nervous about driving since my wrist is broken. I left a message with the local chapter; hope they have time to respond soon.
I don't know anything about endometrial cancer, but the only advice I can give is to definitely contact the American Cancer Society to see what sort of support services they can refer you to, and make sure you're aware of all treatment options. I know it's a lot to mentally process, but it's important that you arm yourself with as much information as possible. The good news is that it's grade one.
