I was forced to get one for my bone marrow transplant. After my release from the hospital I let it close up. It makes it eaasier for the staff and less needle intrusions. Then they wanted me to get a port 3 years later when I was back in hospital and I said no. It is your decision. You have rights. Remember its your body. They will be using ivs every day and a port helps for chemo. Please PM me if you have questions or need support.

Thank you. I just want to get this done and over with. I've got things to do before I kick. I'm so tired of being sick and tired. My bucket list awaits.

I know it's a lot to deal with, but you'll be grateful for the port. It makes any infusions you require so much easier to administer. Much better than having them constantly poke you with needles to find a vein. Hang in there kid. These measures are all a royal pain in the ass, but they are saving your life.
