I have bought my wife a fridge for Christmas.

I can't wait to see her face light up when she opens it.

Hahaha, ewe ever heard of a Taranaki blonde?

I just found out that there’s 187 sheep per square kilometre in the country….bloody hell.

@Zealandia can you still buy shanks & brains for next to nothing?

@FrayedBear Nah, they’re really expensive here.
I had to look online for lamb’s brains. It doesn’t look like you can readily buy them, have to go to a local butcher.
NZ$30.00 a kilo quoted online. Never tried it.

Mum used to give me liver and onions as a kid though.

Cheapest lamb shanks I could locate at the supermarket websites were about NZ $25.00 a kilo.

We pay global prices for food now. Mixed bag, good for the farmers, but a bit hard for consumers.

My uncle worked his arse off all his life on council owned land that he rented in Yorkshire and when he died, had nothing left. I think farmers should be well paid for what they do, based on what happened to Uncle Brian. As far as I know, he couldn’t afford to retire. The big C got him in the end.

@Zealandia your uncle's story has been still occurring in Australia particularly in the milk industry & those affected by American manipulation of pricing through their forward buying gambling industry.
