Fly Fishing
Would rhat be an acceptable activity for this group?? Even if I don't catch fishes much, just wade around in mountain rivers and streams?
Fly fishing mountain lakes and streams is about the most fun I've had out of bed.
Works for me!
I used to flyfish gentle streams and lakes in Indiana. My first attempt in an actual mountain stream, after moving to GA, was spent trying to avoid falling into ice cold water as I fought to remain firmly on my feet. Mountain streams have both CURRENT and slick bottoms! It was a tougher work out than most hikes I've taken!
I learned real quick to felt my wading boots! I excel at catching low hanging rhododendron MUCH more than fish, but still enjoy it.
Certainly would work for me. Some of my favorite fly fishing spots on the Deschutes River in Oregon, require a hike. We also take along the canoe and paddle around some of the lakes nearby. Lovely places to camp.

Posted by CallMeDaveI've never been a big wildflower person, but this is the season for it here in Appalachia. Other people can identify every variety. I'm not there yet.
