I went out in the desert this afternoon to look for flowers and practice social distance (600 feet minimum). Secondary goal, not get stuck...ok, that one didn't work.

This is a Century cactus in bloom. Why is it special? Becuase it will only bloom once in its life. Producing the stalk and the flowers will y kill it.
