Question for fellow Libertarians. Has anyone who identified as a leftwing progressive ever slander you by calling you a fascist for your Libertarian views? I sure have, and I think it's time to address such ignorance- "For those of you out there who identify with (even loosely identify as) Libertarian philosophy, has ..."
If one were to compare side by side the definitions of fascism and libertarianism, then one would clearly be able to see the two are diametrically opposed to one another.

If people such as peter thiel claim to be libertarian, while behaving more like fascists, then that might cause this type of confusion. They shouldn't be able to claim they are libertarian when they actually only want themselves to be free, and not others. He used his money to fund the bankrupting of Gawker because he was mad they reported he is gay (which was confirmed), a slap in the face to freedom of speech and the press. He also publicly supported Trump, who spins truth in the same way by mis-applying words.

Yes, my mother-in-law, and my wife's three siblings who are all somewhat left of Bernie Sanders; which is interesting because my wife is one of the most right wing people I ever met.
About a year ago my mother-in-law called me a fascist. I was sure she didn't know what fascism was so I asked her to tell me what fascism was....... she could not even start. Since then she has been rather quiet.
