I'm curious why more feminists are not strong 2nd Amendment supporters. It seems to me that in a criminal confrontation where a woman is being attacked by a man (armed or not), a firearm would be the Great Equalizer. I would think feminists would strongly encourage women to become proficient with firearms, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Can someone enlighten me?

I think it's because they don't understand guns. To them, it's not an effective defense tool, it's a murder weapon that only murderers would ever use. I'd say "except the cops" but most feminists fall for the anti-cop hysteria of BLM and the Mainstream Media. Nor do they see through the politicians who know a disarmed populace cannot resist tyranny as well as an armed populace can.

My perception of many feminist leaders is that they are intelligent, thoughtful people. It surprises me that on this issue they are so short-sighted.

@Keith_J Just goes to show ideology is independent of intelligence. My dad is among the smartest people I know and he's an amateur apologist.

I had a girlfriend who carried just because of being raped when she was in college. She wasn't going to let that happen again.

I would think it's in the DNA of women to be less aggressive, and thus less apt to seek violence-laden solutions. But I agree -- guns are the great equalizer, not only with the weak and the strong, but with tyrannical politicians and the powerless.
