For those of you who attending meeting.....

How would you handle someone who is making you uncomfortable at your meeting? I struggle with my aggression, and I have the tendency to escalate the situation because I honestly, don't like my boundaries disrespected. I gave too much allowance to that during my addiction. Would you go as far as changing meeting if you've already discussed your issues with that person? Would you go to the facilitator of the group? If so what could really be said? What difference would it really make with a passive aggressive antagonist? You know the type, the smile at your face, articulate manipulative type. The type of person who was the kid that would put his finger 2 inches from your face, waiting for you to react and get you in trouble.

I post reminders in my room such as "Don't take the bait" or "Be the adult" or "Argue with the disturbed? That is a fool's errand". "Avoid interaction". "Leave first".

I feel like I can relate to much of what you stated. Sometimes I will get perturbed, get annoyed with someone when in my mind, it seems they are taking the discussion off into the wrong direction or maybe grandstanding a bit or they are missing the point of the topic at hand. Or maybe I feel this person has little ability to comment on said subject. All the while, the tension within me can continue to snowball which can make me feel more conflicted and more uncomfortable. I may begin to contemplate if I should make an effort to clarify and suggest a course correction. It can be a difficult situation as uncomfortable feelings can escalate and it can taint the overall ambience of all in the room.
I suppose it boils down to how balanced and supple
one's ability is to navigate and mesh with others while knowing that everyone's level of civility is different.

In the end, if the uncomfortable feelings continued, I would probably seek out another meeting.

I believe that at times, this choice could be a sign of weakness but at other times it could be perceived as a strength, or as a wise decision, or a choice that evolved from experience.
