I'm working on a novel and sidelined reading Lord of the Flies last week. (But I had to skip the painful animal slaughter parts). Golding can string words together in such a way that I often put down the book and stared at the wall marveling at the prose. I'm good, but where near that good. It's not the vocabulary (although that's important) but the way the words are put together.

Christ in a sidecar, I have not read Lord of the Flies since I don't know when. I must chase up a battered copy from a second hand bookshop.

Howdy. Don't know how I managed to avoid reading it until now, but boy o boy. Guess that's why it's been around so long.

@westvir As with anything, you got there in the end which is all that counts!

I'm new to the site. What does 50M stand for after your name? and the 51%?

@westvir The two answers are: 1) I don't know; and 2) it means I'm average, which is probably right.

Could it be that you're 50 years old and a male?

@westvir No. As should be obvious from my profile photo, I am a 24 year old lesbian 🙂

Painting with words is a very tricky business indeed.

Show us that you're good. Sling some words this way. Oh, and a bio would be nice.

I'm thinkin'....
