I've resided in Sarasota Florida since June of 2010. I am originally from New Jersey where I had been employed as a concrete mixer operator. It was a Union position that paid incredibly well - and then work started to dwindle until I was unable to maintain the position.
I took what little money I saved - in addition to what I ultimately inherited following the passing of my mother in 2009, and moved here to the Sunshine State to purchase my first home.
After hurricane Irma, last year, I'm seriously considering selling the place and moving to a more "disaster free" zone as I was lucky to have sustained no damage whatsoever. I am also considering downsizing to something much more manageable that what I currently have.
I am a musician - bassist to be more specific - and I love all well-written music, be it any style.
I love to go fishing and spend lazy days watching movies and listening to audio-books.
I currently work as a security guard for a local gated community and have done as such since 2011. It would appear as though if one is boastful regarding their beliefs, or lack thereof, on social media outlets, this could affect opportunity in a "Right-To-Work" state. I'm not 100% convinced of this as of yet, but it certainly seems that way.
Provided that my unusual hours, or other vices, are not a problem, I thought it might be a good idea to meet someone who is, at least, moderately like-minded and so this is my start.
There is so much more to tell, but that will have to wait until we get to know each other.
