I signed up after a few drinks and I'm starting to doubt it was a wise move. I'm not convinced that I can meet the right person via this method. So I'm going to stick around for the rest of the month in the hope that I'll be pleasantly surprised. First and foremost I will need to be stimulated by our converstions. Honest conversation is key. I've had a hell of a ten years and I really want the next ten+ to be my favourite thus far.

I've worked in TV & Film and done a million other jobs in-between. I've chased love more than I have a career, I have no regrets, and no career, and little ambition or money in the bank, but I am a good man who is very much in touch with his emotions. I've been through a lot in life and I still cherish the precious gift that it is. For me, the little things go a long, long way to contentment. Three nice meals, a warm home and good company should never be taken for granted, and for me simply having those things every day is enough.

I'm someone Bill Hicks would call a 'Reader', but I have neglected my love of reading for a while now, something I aim to change. Books I love off the top of my head:

Girlfriend in a Coma, Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption, The Art of Asking, The Long Walk, Firestarter, You’ll Never Eat Lunch in This Town Again, Adventures in the Screen Trade. I could list many more with a bit more thought, but I'm chilling on a Sunday and can't be bothered.

I like Sci-Fi and Horror films whilst maintaining the belief that most of them are absolute garbage. I love a good subtitled movie but hate the fact that I often get sleepy when watching them. Some of my favourite films:

When it comes to music, I probably like a little of every single genre. I love live music. Glastonbury feels like home even though I haven't managed to get a ticket since 1999. Standout artists for me would include: Prince, Nina Simone, Bob Marley, John Lennon, Led Zeppelin, and Zero 7. I have seen Skunk Anansie live more times than any other band with Zero 7 a close second. I love reggae.

A good sense of humour is very important to me. I believe mine has saved my life on more than one occasion.

I go to weekly counseling sessions to treat multiple counts of childhood PTSD. It's the hardest and best thing that I have ever done. I wish I had started doing it sooner (but that's not how PTSD works, sadly), but its the doing it that matters. In fact my well being is where my focus is in life. It hasn't always been this way and to be honest I am still learning why this hasn't been the case.
