Had lay missionary parents. Grew up in Sierra Leone until I was 9. Lost my belief when I took philosophy in HS (thanks, Mr. Cornelius). My big catch was theodicy (how could an omnipotent, good god allow evil); I've since thought of (and read) outs to that, but belief can't be switched on like it can be switched off.
I believe that indoctrinating children in religion is child abuse.
In middle school, I knew all of science. I've since got a PhD in physics, and I now know only a vanishingly small part of what humans know, which is in turn an infinitesimal part of what is to be known.
