"Stuckness" -- Wishing I could move ahead but don't know how. Feel like I'm in a holding pattern due to physical and financial limitations from illness and other setbacks. Gotta keep reminding myself that I'm doing the best I can, and I'm actually handling way more than I was capable of even before I got sick. But sometimes I just find myself spinning my wheels.
I can relate, I had 2 widow Maker heart attacks in 2012 5 days apart, had a ICD implant (pacemaker/defibilator) I'm 44 but stamina wise I feel in my 80's, I worked labor jobs up until then, but now I need to find a sit down job and I don't have a clue what I need to get started on a new career or even what I want
Oh wow this is so me right now too. Doesn't help I have a 12-stepper's frustration with unresolved problems... Like you said doing the best I can, try to recognize the small victories on the way to the big ones and focus on what's in front of me right now. Getting help from the right people helps too. Some amazing ones here! ??
Great word. Being in the same situation I understand what you're going through. As you know, understanding the problem is the first step to fixing it. Just the fact that you could write that shows that you understand the problem and are dealing with it the best way you can. One good thing about the internet is that there are support groups for many health conditions where sometimes you can pick up ideas on how others have dealt with your health problem. So try and search for those if you haven't already. Sounds like you're doing the best you can but once in a while just take a day to cool out and try not to think about it all. Just relax. The problems don't go away but dwelling on them can seem to make it worse I think. Bottom line: Hang in there! You always have us to vent to
Keep on keepin' on. Sometimes it helps to reach out to someone, I have always thought that doing it in person is best. Do you have a network around you? Will your physical problems still allow you to get out around people? I am so fortunate to have a big independent bookstore right up the street from me, I can walk there, pick up a book from the shelf, sit in a corner and read for free. Please feel free to message me on this site if you need a listening ear. I lost almost a year out of my life with hip problems and surgery.
I am so sorry to hear that...but, don’t give in and don’t give up! What might help your perspective at this moment is to get a handle on things that you can make work in your best interest! Does not matter how big or how small, the thing is...whatever supports your best interest, right now! Don’t worry that it may seem trivial to others...’you’ are your only concern at this moment! Your personal ‘force,’ needs a boost so that you can do, what is in your best interest! The (seemingly) small things under your guidance will reinforce your strength for the harder things. Best of luck...’face your fear any do it anyway!’
Start by doing small pleasures you can do. Read, eat something you really like, invite a friend over, look at old pictures and most of all recognize you are depressed. This is the first step in getting over it.I had it it twice for similar reasons and each time it took several months to recover but i did.EAch time i just had to say to myself i am stronger than this.I got rid of the medicine and stopped therapy and just did what was the best thing that made me happy. It does work.
Hang in there, I think we all spend more time just spinning our wheels without realising it. Being too busy, too complacent, too lazy. You may be one step ahead in that you feel it and may find your next move soon.
Good to keep in mind, thank you!
I'm sorry you've been going through this.
I don't know what you have, but I do know that cannabis oil seems to cure almost anything.
Just make sure it is legal where you live. A lot of states are way behind the times
Went the medical marijuana route already. Unfortunately it didn't work.
@AmelieMatisse Doesn't matter as long as you have friends who know people, or take a little trip to a state where it's legal.
Even in states that allow medical cannabis, there is so much gov. red tape and the weed prices are so high, most people either give up trying to get medical cannabis, or just keep growing it and buying it from friends.
@bleurowz Did you smoke it (which has almost no medical value) or take high THC cannabis oil, which cures cancer, food allergies, diabetes symptoms, etc.?
CBD oil also cures a lot of serious medical issues, like seizures, etc.
I am taking cannabis oil for cancer, but it began clearing up other problems I've had for decades..severe food allergies and asthma disappeared, diabetes reactions vanished, etc.
@birdingnut I've tried the vape and the cannabis oil. No change.
@bleurowz Sorry. The vape wouldn't work, of course, cannabis oil has to be high HTP, and it take can some time before you notice a change.
I understand. I have many days of feeling stuck. I try to just do what I’m able, on the days I’m able...and resting at other times. It was years before I adjusted to not working and having energy.
Just keep breathing and going forward.
