Ancient Aliens. On History Channel. I have to admit I eat that stuff up. They can pretty much convince me that what they're saying is true, or at least close to true. They touch on the Sumerian writings which I think is as plausible an explanation of human origins as anything.
Originally, the History Channel was pretty good. Then they got into the business of selling crap to their viewers. If you listen carefully to the wording of these shows that seem to suggest that (for example) there is a secret door in Antarctica leading into the hollow Earth where the aliens live. It's all empty hype without an ounce of actual substance. Harmless? No, it's not really harmless. It contributes to the dumbing-down of America, and America is rapidly becoming a place that can't afford too much more dumbing-down.
There have always been tales of an "inner Earth". Like one with an entrance in the Arctic. Then that bit about the Nazi's having some kind of base in the Antarctic. There are historical rumors about that. During history there have always been BS tales.
History Channel puts a lot of programs on to get people to watch. On Ancient Aliens they word a lot of their bits as questions. As in, YOU decide. They can't say any of those things with conviction. They're just putting out the "what if". Where did those giant multi-ton slabs of cut rock come from? Who cut those? Who made building out of 'em? Who made those pyramids all over the world? What was the purpose? Why are they arranged as they are? Those large lines at Nazca. What are their purpose? Can't be seen from the ground. Lots of questions, few answers. What we DO know is, those anomalies are all over the world.
So, which is better?
Ancient Aliens, or, Ice Road Truckers??
I vote for Ice Road Truckers.
Every other word is " might be", "could be", "possibly", or a variation thereof..........i find it tiring to watch!
My main peeve is the "You have to ask/wonder" b/s. I don't have to ask/wonder anything.
I found the show interesting at first, but I agree with you. I can only stand so much of speculation.
I started watching it because it was refreshing to see others believe as I do. After a while though, it became preposterous. My ancestors weren't that stupid, and not everything allegedly technological is "aliens".
Now I watch it for a good laugh.
Yeah, literally any terrestrial explanation is more likely than aliens once someone has a basic understanding of just how complicated space travel is
