I hear you... i used to practice side slips in my 152. That baby was light so i always kept the wings full and 50 lbs of weights in a duffle bag up front on the passenger seat. You lower your flaps to 30 degrees and try to keep a good airspeed for landing. That don't always work. The updraft and head wind would sail me like a kite. So.... i would do a side slip for a straight landing without doing a pattern. You talk about a rollercoaster ride looking out your side window flying straight in line to the runway but flying sideways with the wing pointed towards the runway. That was almost as fun as a tail dragger. Thats why i got a gyrocopter. The 4 wheeler of the sky.
Wow ?
Daily sis, daily..
You're a trooper !
